The first business I owned... I failed
I thought all you needed to do is SHOUT I'm Open for Business,... That was in the 90's. Before the internet... even before cell phones. Unlike my parents and grand parents, I knew I couldn't work at the same place for 40 years, retire with a gold watch and ride off into the sunset. That just wasn't me. I wanted to be my own boss! Take on the world! Make my own schedule!

The truth is I was only 21, newly married and we had our first child on the way. I was stressed, gaining weight, and ws really unhealthy. It wasn't because of a lack of passion, drive or will power, it was a lack of not knowing how to drive my business forward. It was not knowing what questions I wasn't asking. Several years later, after a career change and working for a few companies, we went back out on our own. It was rough but with the knowledge I gained those years, we were able to make money. but the STRESS, no family time and no profits haunted me still.
I thought... THERE HAS GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY!
I was over complicating business, what clients to reach, what employees I should hire, how to keep the profits... even why we were in business. It wasnt until I went back to the drawing board, looked for a coach who had been there and done that did I find what I was looking for.
